Job Title: Data Protection Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Consultant to join our team in Düsseldorf. As a Data Protection Consultant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for certain German entities in the Energy Assets domain.
  • Provide support to the business on data protection queries and answer subject access requests.
  • Advise on Germany-specific data protection issues and review data protection agreements.
  • Support in Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and maintain documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Travel regularly to locations of the Assets to create and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and carry out audits or support in audits as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Prior data protection related work, inhouse or in a law firm, is essential.
  • Data Protection Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or their equivalents from other certification bodies are mandatory.
  • Knowledge of data protection laws including but not limited to the GDPR/BDSG, as well as an understanding on how to assess technical and organisational measures.
  • Understanding of ISMS Audit requirements under ISO standards as well as BSI Basic Protection Requirements in relation to data protection.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and present complex technical topics to them.
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis (up to 50%) to various locations in Germany.
