About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at Uniper in Düsseldorf. As a key member of our Data Privacy team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with data protection regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for certain German entities in the Energy Assets domain, providing support to the business on data protection queries and advising on Germany-specific data protection issues.
  • Review data protection agreements, support in Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and maintain documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Travel regularly to locations of the Assets to create and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and carry out audits or support in audits as necessary.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and German, with prior data protection related work experience, preferably inhouse or in a law firm.
  • Data Protection Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or their equivalents from other certification bodies are mandatory.
  • Knowledge of data protection laws, including the GDPR/BDSG, and an understanding of how to assess technical and organisational measures.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and present complex technical topics to them.
