The Paul-Drude-Institut Berlin is seeking a highly skilled Post Doc Researcher to contribute to the development of micro-integrated quantum-cascade transceivers for high-resolution spectroscopy and space applications.
As a Post Doc Researcher, you will join a team of experts in the design, growth, fabrication, and investigation of terahertz quantum-cascade lasers (THz QCLs) for high-resolution spectroscopy.
Your Responsibilities- Develop QCL and quantum-cascade detector structures (active regions)
- Optimize resonator structures
- Contribute to the understanding of physical processes in active media
- Experimentally investigate characteristics of quantum-cascade devices
- PhD in experimental physics
- Background in semiconductor physics
- Expertise in one of the following scientific fields: quantum transport in nanostructures, semiconductor technology, or THz spectroscopy
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Modern laboratories with a range of experimental techniques
- Supportive environment with experts in various scientific sub-fields
