About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Communication Specialist to join our team at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and implementing outreach strategies to promote our research among non-specialist audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage with diverse audiences
  • Write and edit content for various media platforms, including print, audio-visual, and digital media
  • Manage and update digital content on our website and social media channels
  • Promote and coordinate public events, including conferences, colloquia, and seminars
  • Collaborate with our research teams to integrate public activities into our outreach and communication strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline of the humanities, with a preference for historical disciplines
  • Experience in writing and editing content for non-specialist audiences
  • Experience in managing public communication formats, such as poster design, podcasting, and social media
  • Proven project management skills
  • IT skills in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, with familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud and Content Management Systems
  • Native or near-native fluency in verbal and written English, with a good knowledge of written German desirable
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
