Claims Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Consultant to join our team at Munich Re. As a Claims Consultant, you will play a critical role in managing claims in casualty and property insurance, ensuring that our clients receive fair and timely settlements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage claims from inception to closure, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and that claims are settled in a timely and fair manner.
- Conduct thorough investigations into claims, gathering all relevant information and evidence to support our clients' claims.
- Work closely with our underwriting and corporate underwriting teams to ensure that claims are handled in accordance with our company's policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement loss mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of claims on our clients' businesses.
- Communicate effectively with our clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are informed and up-to-date on the status of claims.
- Collaborate with our internal stakeholders, including underwriting and corporate underwriting, to identify trends and patterns in claims data.
- Monitor and instruct external experts, including law firms, loss adjusters, and forensic accountants, to ensure that their services meet our high standards.
- Support the coordination of larger losses and events, working closely with our claims managers and other teams to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
- Assist with the administration of claims, including file maintenance, payment processing, and the use of applicable tools and systems.
- University degree in a relevant field, such as insurance, risk management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in insurance, preferably in a claims or underwriting role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of Munich Re's claims systems, including FS-RI, ECF2, UEM, EAP, and related software.
- Strong IT affinity and data-driven mindset, with the ability to produce reports and analyze data.
- Very good English language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
