Program Insights
The Commercial Trainee Program at ADM is designed to help you realize your full potential. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic about addressing the nutritional challenges of today and the future. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in a meaningful way.
Your initial year will focus on understanding the fundamentals of agricultural commodity trading, logistics, and processing through engaging, hands-on roles within one of our European offices. In the subsequent year, you will enhance these competencies while gaining greater independence and market exposure at a different European location.
You will follow a structured learning plan that aligns business needs with your personal growth. A mentor from the Trading team will provide guidance throughout your traineeship. You will also gain insights into contract law, logistics, contract execution, risk management, and the financial aspects of trading decisions.
Upon completion of the program, successful graduates will be well-prepared for future roles in trading or to advance towards commercial management positions.
Key Success Factors
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree, ideally in Economics, Business, or Agricultural studies
- A strong interest in the Agri-commodity trading sector
- A results-driven mindset with excellent analytical abilities; self-motivated and committed to continuous improvement
- Proficient communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages are advantageous
- Willingness to travel and/or relocate within Europe
- A valid EU work permit
- A distinctive experience in the commercial sector across various European ADM business units.
- Practical exposure and significant responsibility for commercial, risk management, and logistical decisions across multiple commodity markets in alignment with ADM's European asset footprint
- Exposure to local and global markets
