Department Overview
The Chief Risk Office (CRO) at DWS plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organization against excessive losses while serving as a trusted advisor for sustainable growth. Within the CRO, the Financial Risk Management team focuses on the risks associated with DWS as a publicly traded entity. This includes managing investments in alternative and liquid assets, as well as overseeing credit, counterparty, liquidity, foreign exchange, and pension-related risks. The team is also responsible for identifying and assessing emerging risks in collaboration with our global Macro Research team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Risk Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying, evaluating, and monitoring equity, credit, and foreign exchange market risks stemming from DWS's balance sheet positions, along with the associated hedging strategies and underlying risk factors.
- Facilitating informed decision-making and approvals concerning these risks.
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders across Business and Finance to implement an effective risk management framework.
- Developing comprehensive stress tests and risk scenarios in partnership with analysts and subject matter experts within DWS.
- Establishing and enhancing a robust risk and control framework tailored to the relevant risk categories.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Several years of hands-on experience in analyzing equity, credit, or foreign exchange market risks.
- Strong quantitative abilities, particularly in applying statistical and financial models to diverse datasets and interpreting the results effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of investment products and familiarity with balance sheet analysis.
- A university degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A proactive mindset and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
- The capability to meet deadlines consistently.
