Supplier Quality Serial Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Future Role

Our site in Siegen serves as an international hub for bogie development. With 800 professionals engaged in the design, manufacturing, testing, and repair of bogies for global rail traffic, we ensure stability and comfort on the tracks. Our corporate functions are vital in supporting and enhancing the performance of our operations. You will report to [HIRING MANAGER] and collaborate with a committed and passionate team.

Responsibilities

As a Supplier Quality Serial Engineer, you will implement and execute the Serial Supplier Quality Assurance policy in conjunction with Procurement. Your duties will include conducting inspections for low-critical components and overseeing the quality performance of designated suppliers.

  • Manage day-to-day Non-Conformity issues.
  • Invoice suppliers for the Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ S1).
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive supplier containment action plans to protect the manufacturing line.
  • Challenge suppliers to enforce relevant corrective and preventive action plans and improve responsiveness.
  • Develop and manage a Supplier improvement roadmap for underperforming suppliers in line with the Supplier Quality escalation process (Green/ Yellow / Red status).
  • Organize supplier reviews and conduct visits to supplier facilities as needed.
  • Ensure inspections are performed for low-critical components (not included in the Supplier Part List).
  • Collaborate with SPQD, SQ Serial Engineers, and Incoming Inspectors to ensure Control Plans are defined and recorded in the ERP system.
  • Initiate external special process inspections or laboratory testing when necessary.
  • Maintain and publish KPIs while identifying opportunities for performance enhancement.
  • Manage Incoming Inspection team competencies through a skills matrix and schedule training as required.
  • Complete inspections within the allocated lead time and ensure priority inspections are executed on schedule.
  • Oversee Incoming Inspection activities when designated as SQ Referent for the site.

Candidate Profile

We prioritize passion and attitude over experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, we have outlined some that will facilitate your success and growth in this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with supplier qualification standards (ISO, ASME, IRIS, Local Standards, etc.).
  • Proficiency in English and German.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality or Production.
  • Technical knowledge in a relevant field.
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar applications and 8D Methodology.
  • Collaborative, persuasive, and resilient mindset.
