Your Future Role
Our facility in Siegen serves as a global center of excellence for bogies. Here, 800 dedicated professionals engage in the development, manufacturing, testing, and repair of bogies for international rail transport, ensuring stability and comfort on the tracks. Our corporate functions are vital in supporting and enhancing the performance of our operations. You will report to [HIRING MANAGER] and collaborate with a passionate and skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supplier Quality Serial Engineer, you will implement and execute the Serial Supplier Quality Assurance policy in conjunction with Procurement. Your role will involve conducting inspections for low-critical components and overseeing the quality performance of designated suppliers.
• Manage day-to-day Non-Conformity issues.
• Charge suppliers for the Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ S1).
• Ensure timely and comprehensive supplier containment action plans to safeguard the manufacturing process.
• Challenge suppliers to enforce appropriate corrective and preventive action plans, emphasizing responsiveness.
• Develop and oversee a Supplier Improvement Roadmap for underperforming suppliers in line with the Supplier Quality escalation framework (Green/Yellow/Red status).
• Conduct supplier reviews and visit supplier facilities as necessary.
• Perform inspections for low-critical components (not included in the Supplier Part List).
• Collaborate with SPQD, SQ Serial Engineers, and Incoming Inspectors to ensure Control Plans are accurately defined and documented in the ERP system.
• Initiate external special process inspections or lab testing when required.
• Maintain and publish KPIs while identifying opportunities for performance enhancement.
• Manage competencies within the Incoming Inspection team through skills matrices and schedule training as needed.
• Complete inspections within designated lead times and ensure priority inspections are conducted promptly.
• Oversee Incoming Inspection activities when appointed as SQ Referent for the site.
Qualifications
We prioritize enthusiasm and attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, we have outlined some that will facilitate your success and growth in this position:
• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with supplier qualification standards (ISO, ASME, IRIS, Local Standards, etc.).
• Proficiency in English and German.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality or Production.
• Technical knowledge in a relevant field.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships is advantageous.
• Proficient in SAP or similar software applications and 8D Methodology.
• Collaborative, persuasive, and resilient.
