Senior Software Engineer for 5G Satellite Systems

Your RoleWe are looking for a talented and experienced Senior 5G Software Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and integration of cutting-edge satellite communication systems utilizing 5G technology. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal performance and seamless operation of our satellite communication user terminals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design of the 5G technology stack within the overall software architecture, focusing on scalability, interoperability, performance, and security.
- Developing and optimizing software solutions for 5G-enabled satellite communication terminals.
- Implementing 3GPP standards, protocols, and features in the software development process.
- Integrating open-source 5G Core Network platforms with satellite communication systems to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Collaborating with engineering teams, product managers, suppliers, and stakeholders to define software requirements and specifications.
- Conducting feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate software designs and performance.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex software issues related to 5G and satellite communications.
- Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Staying updated on the latest advancements in 5G, satellite communications, and open-source 5G Core Network platforms to foster innovation.
- Preparing comprehensive documentation including software designs, specifications, and test plans.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Telecommunications.
- Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering for telecommunications, particularly with 5G networks.
- Hands-on experience with 3GPP Releases 16/17/18 standards and protocols.
- Familiarity with open-source 5G platforms such as Open5GS, srsRAN, or OpenAirInterface.
- Experience in software-defined radio (SDR) and network function virtualization (NFV).
- Understanding of IoT and its integration with 5G and satellite systems.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
- Proficiency in software testing, integration, and validation methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating organizational and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
