The Corporate Civil Engineering division at Munich Re F&C (Facultative & Corporate) delivers tailored insurance offerings to the global civil engineering and select industrial markets. Our team collaborates with brokers, owners/operators, and construction firms worldwide, overseeing project (CAR/EAR) and operational (CECR/IDI) business.
We are seeking a committed engineering underwriter with expertise in civil or industrial engineering to enhance our dynamic team. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including underwriting, client management, and business development initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, evaluate, and profitably underwrite corporate civil engineering projects with an emphasis on project works. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, pricing strategies, wording evaluations, and accumulation management. Foster and enhance client relationships, and pursue new engineering business opportunities with global insureds and brokers. Engage in negotiations with insured parties and brokers to achieve favorable outcomes aligned with our underwriting strategies. Contribute to the formulation of corporate underwriting principles. Perform on-site risk inspections and evaluations, and develop loss prevention recommendations. Assist in the management of major claims. Stay informed about industry advancements and trends. Prepare and deliver presentations and seminars for colleagues and clients.CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, industrial) or a related field. At least 5 years of industry experience; international exposure and experience with major projects are advantageous. In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and practices; affiliation with professional engineering organizations is a plus. Experience in underwriting or familiarity with insurance in CAR, EAR, CECR, and IDI sectors. Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation capabilities, and a customer-centric approach. Proficiency in business-level English; additional language skills (German, French, Spanish) are beneficial. Ability to work autonomously while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks effectively. Solid numerical and analytical skills. Collaborative and effective work style within an international team environment. Willingness to travel as required. ABOUT MUNICH RE
