The Corporate Civil Engineering division at Munich Re F&C (Facultative & Corporate) delivers tailored insurance solutions to the global civil engineering and select industrial sectors. Our team collaborates with brokers, owners/operators, and construction firms worldwide, managing both project (CAR/EAR) and operational (CECR/IDI) business.
We are seeking a committed engineering underwriter with expertise in civil or industrial engineering to enhance our dynamic team. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including underwriting, client management, and business development activities.

YOUR ROLE
Acquire, evaluate, and profitably underwrite corporate civil engineering business with an emphasis on project works. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, pricing strategies, wording analysis, and accumulation management. Foster and deepen customer relationships, while developing new engineering business with global clients and brokers. Engage in negotiations with clients and brokers to achieve favorable outcomes aligned with our underwriting strategy. Contribute to the formulation of corporate underwriting principles. Perform on-site risk inspections and evaluations, and prepare loss prevention recommendations. Assist in the handling of major claims. Stay informed about industry developments and trends. Prepare and deliver presentations and seminars for colleagues and clients.YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
A university degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, industrial) or a related field. At least 5 years of industry experience; international exposure and experience on major projects are advantageous. Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices; affiliation with professional engineering associations is a plus. Experience in underwriting or knowledge of insurance in CAR, EAR, CECR, and IDI fields. Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and a strong customer-centric approach. Proficiency in business-level English is required; additional language skills (German, French, Spanish) are beneficial. Ability to work independently while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks effectively. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Collaborative and effective working style in an international team environment. Willingness to travel as needed. ABOUT US
