About HelloFresh

We are in search of a committed Health and Safety Coordinator to become a vital part of our expanding HelloFresh team and spearhead the safety initiatives for our operations.

As the Health and Safety Coordinator, you will take charge of formulating, executing, and supervising all health and safety protocols for our food processing facility. Your role will involve ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, conducting thorough risk evaluations, and fostering a safety-oriented culture throughout the organization. This position presents a unique chance to influence safety practices from the outset and significantly enhance our operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Formulation: Lead the development and execution of health and safety policies and procedures for the new food processing facility, ensuring compliance with both company standards and regulatory mandates.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Health & Safety team and other departments to ensure effective collaboration across the organization.
  • Risk Evaluation and Auditing: Conduct regular risk evaluations and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Training Initiatives: Design and deliver health and safety training programs for all employees, promoting a culture of safety and ongoing improvement.
  • Incident Analysis: Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Collaborate with management and staff to cultivate a robust safety culture and drive continuous enhancement.
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective gear are properly maintained, utilized correctly, and readily accessible.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on the latest health and safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Employee Guidance: Provide support and advice to employees on health and safety matters, addressing concerns and promoting best practices.
  • Performance Metrics Reporting: Report on health and safety performance metrics to senior management, providing insights and recommending improvements for enhanced safety outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within the Food Manufacturing, Assembly, Chemical, or Consumer Products sectors.
  • Certification: Certified as an occupational health and safety officer under relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with fire protection processes and handling biological agents is advantageous.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively motivating teams.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of adapting language and information for diverse audiences.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in business English and German is essential.
  • Training Skills: Expertise in designing and delivering impactful health and safety training programs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office and health and safety management software.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to changing priorities.
