As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Vice President of Wafer Fabrication Operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee both in-house and foundry wafer fabrication operations on a global scale. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring that all facets of wafer production—including processes, support systems, and equipment—function efficiently and effectively. This includes driving continuous enhancements in operational uptime, production cycle times, yield, and overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively to both strategic and operational initiatives that support business development and operational teams.
  • Evaluate and refine the tool acquisition process to facilitate the implementation of selected technologies.
  • Lead the execution of Unit Process Development aligned with the Process Technology Roadmap.
  • Establish frameworks for process technology development or transfer between facilities.
  • Manage essential subcontractor relationships with suppliers that support fabrication operations, including tools, materials, chemicals, and gases.
  • Engage with industry partners, academic institutions, and national laboratories to stay abreast of the latest advancements and to create talent pipelines.
  • Monitor and control fabrication operation costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Foster a culture of continuous operational improvement within the fabrication team.
  • Oversee foundry operations to ensure alignment with internal manufacturing KPIs, focusing on yield and cost enhancements.
  • Manage operations covering Back-Metal and Back-grinding processes, as well as additional top metal deposition when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in material science, chemistry, physics, or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of management experience in wafer fabrication, with at least 10 years in Front End Factory roles.
  • Experience in establishing new fabrication facilities from the ground up is a significant advantage.
  • Proficient in 8D, OCAPs, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with SPC, FDC, and automation systems is essential.
  • Strong understanding of processes such as films, diffusion, implant, etch, CMP, cleaning, and photolithography.
  • Proven experience in leading large teams effectively.
  • A strong leader with excellent communication skills, capable of fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Passionate about semiconductor process technology and operations.
