Senior Analyst for Credit Risk in Leveraged Finance

Position Overview

The Risk division plays a crucial role in safeguarding the Bank's interests. With comprehensive oversight of credit, market, operational, and reputational risks, we possess a unique perspective that enables us to understand our operations and clientele holistically.

Leveraged Lending is an asset category defined by ECB regulations, necessitating specialized risk management. This asset class involves specific due diligence and monitoring protocols, including a tailored scorecard for internal rating assessments.

To enhance our strategy of providing Leveraged Lending services to large and medium-sized enterprises across Europe, CRM LSF is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to fortify its European team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analyses of new Leveraged Finance transactions, including Leveraged Buyouts, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) financing, Best-Effort transactions, Leveraged Loan participations, and requests for amendments or waivers.
  • Evaluate and authorize requests for foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity derivatives, as well as transaction banking products.
  • Review credit reports throughout the credit lifecycle, including detailed credit recommendations and approvals, and present significant transactions to the Underwriting Committee.
  • Make credit decisions within the assigned authority.
  • Engage in ongoing portfolio monitoring and ensure data accuracy within the Bank's technology systems.
  • Lead or participate in various internal projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and assisting Deutsche Bank in achieving strategic objectives.
  • Support the team's interactions with internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Academic degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience/qualification.
  • Extensive experience in Leveraged Finance and/or Structured Finance sectors.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including expertise in Leveraged Loan and High Yield structuring, financial modeling/forecasting, and an understanding of derivative structures, along with a solid grasp of macroeconomic factors.
  • Strong capability to make independent credit decisions.
  • Ability to process complex data swiftly and make well-founded credit decisions concisely.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable Leveraged Lending policies and procedures within a banking context.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.
