Senior Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Amazon Deutschland Transport GmbH - B78. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in our operations and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities- Manage health and safety programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
- Analyze data reports and root causes to provide leadership with the information needed to make informed safety-related decisions.
- Provide guidance and support for health and safety projects and policies, ensuring compliance with local legislation and Amazon's policies.
- Drive initiatives to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Travel within the region to support site-based activities and collaborate with colleagues.
Our WHS team is dedicated to ensuring the well-being and safety of our employees. We work closely with managers, associates, and local governments to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes and building design.
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) handles last-mile delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver millions of physical products to our customers. Our goal is to provide a seamless delivery experience and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, such as Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
We have two main areas of focus: our 'under the roof' associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams, and our 'on the road' people work with Amazon Flex, a network of delivery contractors. We continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services, while also reducing our carbon footprint through the use of cutting-edge vehicles and technology.
Requirements- Education to a degree level and 'Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit' certification.
- Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
- Relevant experience managing projects and complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
- Relevant experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
- Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
