Mechanical Innovation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Leader to join our European Process & Engineering hub in Euskirchen, Germany. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical development of new equipment and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver innovative production technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute the mechanical development of new equipment in a multidisciplinary project team.
- Define mechanical equipment within portfolio capability based on product design.
- Develop mechanical designs using CAD and ERP systems.
- Collaborate with R&D, GMDSO, operations, suppliers, and external partners in mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing.
- Support innovation projects and test run activities, including installation and commissioning.
- Prepare construction risk assessments and provide RFQ documents for contractor services.
- Train and onboard European and global resources on mechanical equipment design.
- Support senior management in decision-making by providing data, insights, and recommendations on equipment options and capability.
- Mechanical engineering technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker Maschinenbau) with 5+ years of experience in complex technical jobs or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Broad knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, documentation, and construction requirements.
- Analytical skills and initiative to identify and solve problems.
- Experience in executing projects self-organized.
- Experience in leading contractor resources, including supervisors and engineering teams.
- Experience in training others.
- High degree of independence, sense of responsibility, and assertiveness.
- Independent prioritization of parallel tasks.
- Experience in adapting communication for different functions and across senior levels.
- Fluent communication in English.
