YOUR ROLE AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
At Procter & Gamble, our Mechanical Technicians play a pivotal role in the invention, development, and implementation of innovative technologies that yield exceptional products for consumers across Europe and beyond.
From your first day, you will take charge of your technology, transforming your ideas into reality. Your technical curiosity and expertise will enable you to devise creative solutions to significant challenges. You will lead comprehensive technology development initiatives within a global team of experts. Your responsibilities will include enhancing the performance and design of current production systems, advancing digitization efforts, and creating solutions for existing machinery and automation processes. You will oversee the development and qualification of production equipment, ensuring adherence to project success criteria. Collaborating with machine suppliers and internal stakeholders from various functions (e.g., Product R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Network), you will design and implement an innovation pipeline that delivers superior products at optimal quality and cost. Your role will demand creativity, innovation, teamwork, and leadership.
We are seeking Mechanical Technicians for our European Process & Engineering hub.
- Lead and manage the mechanical development of new equipment within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Independently define mechanical equipment requirements based on product design specifications.
- Conduct mechanical development utilizing CAD and ERP systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, operations, and external partners in mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing.
- Assist in innovation projects and oversee test run activities (installation, commissioning).
- Prepare risk assessments for construction projects.
- Generate RFQ documents for contractor service inquiries.
- Facilitate training and onboarding for European and global resources on mechanical equipment design.
- Support senior management in decision-making by providing data, insights, and recommendations regarding equipment options and capabilities.
Job Qualifications
YOUR PROFILE
- Qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician with over 5 years of experience in complex technical roles or a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, documentation, and construction standards.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proven experience in managing projects independently.
- Experience in leading contractor teams, including supervisors and engineering personnel.
- Skilled in training and mentoring others.
- High level of independence, responsibility, and assertiveness.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in adapting communication styles for various functions and seniority levels.
- Fluent in English.
