Your Role

As a Finance Intern, you will play a crucial role within our compact Finance Team, which consists of our Head of Finance, Jeroen, our Accountant, Julia, and our Finance Manager, Jessie. This position will allow you to collaborate closely with each team member, gaining invaluable insights across various financial disciplines. This experience will greatly enhance your growth as a versatile finance professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Tasks: With your meticulous attention to detail and enthusiasm for numbers, you will assist in all daily accounting operations. Whether it involves managing accounts payable or receivable, you will ensure a systematic and efficient accounting framework at LIQID. Exciting projects await you, complementing your dynamic personality, with guidance from an experienced team, led by Jeroen, our Head of Finance.
  • Invoicing & Coordination: We are eager to support you as you embark on your journey into the expansive world of finance, contributing to your steep learning curve. Your responsibilities will include invoicing, preparing bank transfers, and monitoring both incoming and outgoing payments, all while collaborating with your team to enhance our daily operations. Additionally, you will assist in coordinating with our tax advisor and will have the opportunity to create reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Projects: You will actively share your ideas, analyze new business models, and contemplate initiatives that contribute to the ongoing development of our department. There are numerous exciting projects currently available, including the implementation of a new forecasting and budgeting tool, transitioning to a new tax advisor, and optimizing our accounting software.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: You are a current student, having completed at least the first two years of your Bachelor's program, preferably in a business-related field with a focus on finance, accounting, or controlling.
  • Skills: Your passion for financial topics is evident, and prior experience through internships in finance, banking, or consulting is a plus. You are proficient in creating PowerPoint presentations and can easily build pivot tables. Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of German is advantageous but not mandatory. Most importantly, you excel at simplifying complex financial concepts for colleagues outside of finance.
  • Mindset: You thrive in numerical environments and demonstrate a careful, structured approach with great attention to detail. You are proactive in sharing your ideas, asking questions, and working independently. Given the sensitive nature of our work, you exhibit the highest level of integrity and sound judgment regarding information confidentiality.
