Role Overview
The Procurement Project Manager plays a crucial role in our operations, requiring a blend of strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively liaise between internal teams and external vendors. This position emphasizes routine procurement activities, supported by our dedicated Procurement team for critical acquisitions and operational strategies. Close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams is essential to align with project specifications, production timelines, and inventory management throughout the manufacturing cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the procurement lifecycle for designated projects, ensuring all materials are sourced and delivered in line with project schedules and budgetary constraints.
- Leverage the ERP system to manage supplier information, create purchase orders, track order progress, and evaluate supplier performance.
- Engage with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of goods and services, addressing any challenges related to delays, quality issues, or discrepancies.
- Manage the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timely payments to suppliers in accordance with established agreements.
- Handle claims and defects by collaborating with suppliers to swiftly resolve issues and mitigate impacts on project timelines.
- Coordinate logistics for transportation, including shipping arrangements and customs clearance as necessary.
- Provide regular updates and reports on procurement status for projects, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure a clear understanding of project needs, technical specifications, and production schedules.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align procurement efforts, tackle supply chain challenges, and explore opportunities for process enhancements.
- Proactively communicate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely material availability and optimize inventory management practices.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Conduct routine inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to maintain precise inventory records.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure seamless support for production processes, aligning procurement activities with operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or purchasing management, ideally within a manufacturing or R&D context.
- Proficient in ERP systems for managing orders and reporting.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail and the capability to proactively address procurement challenges.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms is advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of LEAN production principles and their application in enhancing inventory management and production efficiency.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and implementing process enhancements to boost efficiency and minimize waste in procurement and supply chain operations.
