Graduate Research Position in Machine Learning for Product Development

In the Dispersions & Resins division, we provide an extensive selection of resins, additives, and polymer dispersions. These essential materials are utilized in formulations for coatings, construction chemicals, adhesives, printing and packaging solutions, electronics, and paper products. Our mission is to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that assist our clients in enhancing their formulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Become a part of our team and focus on your Master's thesis titled 'Enhancing formulations in the domains of colorants and construction chemicals through machine learning techniques.'
- Assist in the creation of machine learning models aimed at expediting the development of new products and refined formulations.
- Conduct multiple case studies, including the identification of appropriate descriptors such as raw materials, processing parameters, and physicochemical characteristics.
- Design statistical experiments, prepare and analyze color and construction material formulations, and develop predictive modeling techniques.
- Establish structure-activity relationships derived from the developed models to systematically enhance formulations.
- Utilize BASF's analytical tools and various software applications for your research. Practical work will be conducted in our application technology laboratories.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a scientific or technical degree program.
- A keen interest in data modeling is advantageous.
- Proficient communication skills in both German and English.
- A collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
