ROLE OVERVIEW
In the capacity of Laboratory Team Supervisor (m/f/d) focusing on High Performance Organic Pigments, you will spearhead the research initiatives within Colors Technology in Ludwigshafen. This position requires you to lead cross-functional teams in the ideation, design, development, and introduction of innovative products. As the Lead Research Scientist, you will oversee team responsibilities, manage experimental activities, and drive the product development process. Your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Directing the management of ongoing and new projects, fostering innovation particularly in organic pigments.
- Collaborating with the legal department on patent-related matters, including the filing of invention records and assisting in patent prosecution.
- Identifying essential resources for project milestones and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project deliverables.
- Executing projects related to manufacturing, including environmental, health, and safety assessments, as well as process optimizations.
- Staying updated on market trends, regulatory changes, patent developments, and making informed recommendations for new products and projects.
- Ensuring compliance of research products and processes with EHS/regulatory standards.
- Leading the safety program for the team, ensuring a secure working environment, and overseeing the personal and professional growth of team members.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- PhD in Organic Chemistry is preferred; a strong academic background is essential.
- Experience in the research and development of dyes and pigments is required.
- Proficiency in statistical methodologies and experimental design is necessary.
- Initial leadership experience is advantageous.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and effective presentation skills are important.
- Fluency in both German and English is required.
