POSITION OVERVIEW

In the role of Laboratory Team Supervisor (m/f/d) specializing in High Performance Organic Pigments, you will spearhead the research initiatives for Colors Technology in Ludwigshafen. This position entails leading cross-functional teams within Sun Chemical to conceptualize, design, develop, and launch innovative products. As the Lead Research Scientist, you will oversee team duties, manage experimental projects, and propel product development forward. Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Directing the management of ongoing and new projects, with a focus on innovation in organic pigments
  • Collaborating with the legal department on patent-related activities, including the filing of invention records and assisting in patent prosecution
  • Identifying essential resources for project milestones and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish project deliverables
  • Executing projects related to manufacturing, including environmental, health, and safety assessments, as well as process improvements
  • Keeping abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, patent developments, and making informed recommendations for new products and initiatives
  • Ensuring that research outputs and processes comply with EHS and regulatory standards
  • Leading the safety initiatives for the team, ensuring a secure working environment, and being accountable for the personal and professional growth of team members

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry preferred; a strong academic foundation is essential
  • Experience in the research and development of dyes and pigments is required
  • Strong proficiency in statistical methodologies and experimental design
  • Initial leadership experience is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and effective presentation skills
  • Fluency in both German and English is necessary
