We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our team at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct innovative research in radiopharmaceutical development, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of novel diagnostic, therapeutic, and theranostic ligands, pharmaceuticals, and biomolecules.
- Collaborate with radio-biologists to optimize drug leads and perform in vitro evaluations of in-house produced radiolabeled compounds.
- Develop and implement new methods for tumor diagnosis and cancer treatment, with a focus on breast cancer.
- Write scientific publications and grant applications, and present research findings in internal and external meetings.
- Supervise students and colleagues, and contribute to the development of new research projects.
- PhD and master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences, with a specialization in radiochemistry, radiopharmacy, metalorganic, or complexation chemistry.
- Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and drug design, with expertise in peptides, peptidomimetics, and small molecules/organic ligands.
- Proficiency in analytical methods, including NMR, MS, HPLC, TLC, and Gamma-spectroscopy.
- Experience in radionuclide handling, radiolabeling techniques, and radiopharmaceutical synthesis.
- Strong publication record in internationally recognized scientific journals.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting.
