About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Rivada Space Networks GmbH. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing our data warehouse solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabrics Synapse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data warehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabrics Synapse
  • Develop and optimize data models and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load) to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Design, implement, and further develop data pipelines to integrate various data sources
  • Develop, operate, and monitor existing ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and performance
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to solve data-based challenges and drive business growth
  • Implement and manage data pipelines for integrating various data sources to support business decision-making
  • Perform performance tuning and optimizations to improve data processing and reduce latency
  • Develop and maintain documentation and best practices for data warehouse architecture to ensure consistency and scalability
Requirements
  • Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, data science, or a comparable field
  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a similar position, preferably in the field of data warehousing and big data
  • Solid knowledge and experience with Microsoft Fabrics Synapse (formerly Azure Synapse Analytics) and other Microsoft Azure data solutions
  • Experience with big data and cloud technologies (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, DataBricks)
  • Experience in developing and managing ETL processes as well as with ETL tools
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Proficiency in Python or R and experience with PySpark are required
  • Experience with comparable Microsoft tools is an advantage
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data governance
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach
  • Good communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical issues clearly
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
