A Glimpse into Your Role

As a Senior Expert (f/m/d) in Power Electronics & Control for Battery Energy Storage, you will leverage your practical expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and power electronics. Your responsibilities will include defining the system architecture, steering towards a viable concept and final product, while mentoring, training, and motivating our BESS team to develop top-tier products.

Your Contributions
  • Providing guidance and support to the embedded software team in validating high-level models, algorithms, and codes based on your industry experience, such as converter or battery technology.
  • Defining a comprehensive range of integration tests and overseeing these tests to ensure seamless functionality within the overall system.
  • Specifying components and establishing technical requirements in collaboration with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the standardization and enhancement of our product families and solutions.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for electrical components and systems, while maintaining detailed records of design, standards, and testing procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, software, product management, field installation, commissioning, electrical engineers, and service groups to integrate power electronic systems into solutions and take responsibility for BESS system architecture.
  • Assisting in risk assessments and safety concepts, while aligning functional safety activities with customers and suppliers.
Your Qualifications
  • A completed university degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power electronics, power systems, or controls.
  • Extensive professional experience in power electronics, power systems, or control systems, preferably in battery energy storage projects.
  • Proficiency in prototype design, programming, debugging, mechanical drawings, and validation/verification of in-house algorithms.
  • A solid understanding of power converters (DC-DC, DC-AC) and system engineering & architecture, ideally applied to battery energy storage systems.
  • A belief in the importance of sharing knowledge among colleagues to foster innovative concepts.
  • Preferably, experience with grid code requirements (e.g., VDE AR-N 4110, 4120) and familiarity with basic standards (IEC 60364, IEC 60664, IEC 61439, IEC 62477, IEC 62933).
  • A hands-on approach and experience in system testing and defining measurement setups for power electronics.
