Job Summary:

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on Teledyne FLIR chemical, biological, radiation, and explosive detection instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Teledyne FLIR products and services, including GC/MS, biological, radiation, and explosive detection instruments.
  • Install and configure Teledyne FLIR hardware and software in the field.
  • Provide training on the use of product hardware and software to customers and distributors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instruments, both in-house and in the field.
  • Manage and resolve customer and distributor concerns in a professional and responsive manner.
  • Document technical knowledge and solutions in the product knowledge base.
  • Travel is expected to be at 25%.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, electrical engineering, or physical engineering.
  • Experience: Proven experience in the assembly and repair of complex electro-mechanical instruments, including electronics, vacuum technology, and mechanics.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.

This position requires access to export-controlled information or items. Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
