Position Overview

The Regional Sales Director is tasked with meeting or surpassing the sales objectives and service targets across the designated territory through effective leadership of the regional sales team. This role is crucial in enhancing Envista's market presence while adhering to budgetary constraints and maintaining local profit margins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a tactical sales strategy for the region, aligning with corporate objectives and competitive landscape to ensure target achievement, including necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee the sales pipelines of regional managers to ensure efficient progression of opportunities.
  • Continuously analyze sales performance trends and plan activities (client visits, promotional events, marketing initiatives, etc.) to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Manage the regional budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation and prioritizing expenditures.
  • Regularly review sales plans and reports from regional teams, taking corrective actions when required.
  • Stay updated on industry products, technologies, and competitive activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while effectively implementing them at the regional level.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance personal and team capabilities.

Sales Management:

  • Engage with key customers and competitors to foster relationships and ensure satisfaction with our offerings.
  • Build and maintain connections with influential industry leaders to drive market share growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing and training departments to execute effective customer engagement strategies.
  • Support local and national events, trade shows, and company gatherings as necessary.
  • Gather and communicate customer insights to refine sales strategies.
  • Assist sales representatives in managing challenging customer interactions.

Market Analysis:

  • Maintain an accurate database of active and potential clients, sharing insights across the organization.
  • Coordinate feedback from sales teams and customer service regarding product issues and competitive strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic improvements in pricing and policies.

Team Leadership:

  • Serve as a role model and ensure systematic follow-up on team actions.
  • Support direct reports in executing sales plans and identifying areas for development.
  • Establish annual performance objectives aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Develop individual growth plans for team members to ensure talent retention.
  • Provide training and coaching to achieve regional goals through collaborative efforts.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure alignment with company sales strategies and foster team motivation.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes within the region.
  • Review and approve travel and representation expenses for the sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Experience in managing teams effectively.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Background in the dental industry is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and trends.
