Experimental Atmospheric Physics Postdoc

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics. This role focuses on advancing our understanding of the mesosphere and lower thermosphere through innovative research in atmospheric physics.
Research Focus: The successful candidate will engage in experimental atmospheric physics, emphasizing optical remote sensing techniques that extend to the stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower thermosphere. This research is pivotal in addressing pressing societal challenges, including climate change.
Collaboration and Development: The project is a collaborative effort with local industry partners under the EU-funded initiative, EULIAA. You will contribute to the development of new instruments and measurement methodologies, enhancing our compact lidar systems (VAHCOLI - Vertical And Horizontal Coverage by Lidar).
Software and Hardware Integration: A significant aspect of this role involves software development for lidar control and data analysis, complementing the hardware advancements.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a PhD in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, environmental sciences, or a related field. Proficiency in programming languages such as Julia, Delphi, or C/C++ is essential.
