About Us: The Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) is dedicated to enhancing scientific understanding of the mesosphere and lower thermosphere. Position Overview: We are offering a full-time role (40 hours/week) in the Department of "Optical and Rocket Soundings" as a Postdoctoral Researcher for the EULIAA Initiative (f/m/d). This position involves conducting innovative research in experimental atmospheric physics, particularly focusing on optical remote sensing techniques that extend to the edge of space, encompassing the stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower thermosphere.
Project Details: The EULIAA project emphasizes the development of new instruments and measurement methodologies in close collaboration with local industry partners. This initiative is supported by the European Union and is based on our advanced compact lidar systems (VAHCOLI - Vertical And Horizontal Coverage by Lidar).
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in software development for lidar control and data analysis, complementing hardware advancements.
- Collaborate with a diverse team in an international research environment.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a PhD in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, environmental sciences, or a related field. Proficiency in programming languages such as Julia, Delphi, or C/C++ is essential.
