Position Overview

The University of Bremen is seeking a dedicated professional to lead the IT Workstations department. This role is integral to enhancing our Information and Communication Technology services, ensuring optimal support for our academic and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Development: Oversee personnel management and foster the growth of team members.
  • Strategic IT Development: Drive the organizational and technical advancement of IT workstation services in alignment with institutional goals.
  • Service Management: Establish and implement IT service management processes, ensuring adherence to service agreements and maintaining comprehensive IT documentation.
  • Operational Support: Manage and provide operational assistance for the setup and maintenance of IT devices for all university personnel.
  • Procurement and Advisory: Oversee the acquisition of hardware and software, providing technical guidance to users across various university units.
  • Training and Supervision: Mentor and train trainees in IT, focusing on system integration.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A completed academic degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma) in IT or equivalent qualifications.
  • A completed trainer aptitude test or a willingness to obtain this certification.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management and process optimization.
  • Extensive experience in 1st and 2nd level support, with proficiency in various operating systems (Windows, Linux, MAC) and familiarity with ticket systems.
  • Experience in team or project management.
  • A management style that is both appreciative and decisive, characterized by a structured and responsible approach.
  • Fluency in written and spoken German (C2) and knowledge of English (B1).
