Senior Category Manager

Munich Re is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Category Manager to join our global procurement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies across various categories, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic procurement plans to drive cost savings, improve quality, and enhance supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize procurement opportunities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements that meet our business needs.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- Develop and implement category-specific strategies to drive business growth and improve profitability.
- Provide procurement expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, ensuring a stable and secure supply chain.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, supply chain management, or engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Fluency in English and German, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
