Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Category Manager to join our team in Munich, Germany. As a key member of our Procurement department, you will play a crucial role in shaping our IT category strategy and leading sourcing activities to secure the best value for our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Management
- Develop and execute the IT category strategy in alignment with key stakeholders
- Establish measures and controls to track successful implementation
- Drive sustainable improvements
- Sourcing and Negotiation
- Lead and execute end-to-end sourcing processes (RFX) from specifications definition to contract finalization
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal commercial and contractual conditions with suppliers
- Relationship Management
- Monitor and manage relationships with vendors
- Ensure contracts are negotiated, established, and executed as per agreement
- Compliance and Procurement Excellence
- Conduct all activities in accordance with DSE policies and/or procedures as well as all relevant external regulations
- Minimize use of exceptions
Requirements
- Education
- Master's degree in Procurement or related field/Business Administration
- Experience
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Procurement
- Skills
- Strong negotiation skills combined with contractual/legal knowledge
- Ability to thrive under pressure
- Proactive with a keen attention to detail
- Flexible to take on ad-hoc tasks in response to changing priorities
- Thorough understanding of MS Office, SAP MM, eSourcing, and Procurement Suites
