Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and results-driven individual to serve as the Director of Venture Café Berlin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and leading our team, launching and directing programming for our Thursday Gathering and other ecosystem-building activities. Your goal will be to ensure that our programming connects local innovators to the national and international entrepreneurship community.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with VCGI and CIC to develop the launch strategy for Venture Café Berlin and lead the execution of the launch plan.
- Work closely with the CIC Berlin General Manager to ensure success and align initiatives where appropriate.
- Scope and develop a yearly programming strategy to inspire and connect the local innovation community.
- Scope and secure foundational financial partners for Venture Café Berlin and build a pipeline for funding opportunities.
- Identify and partner with local ecosystem leaders as an advocate and spokesperson to build diverse and inclusive programs.
- Develop innovative program formats for delivering content and creating connection opportunities to maximize engagement.
- Lead and oversee strategic planning, impact measurement, and program budget for CIC Connect market access and other innovation programs in Berlin.
- Attract funding for programs and align them within the Thursday Gathering framework.
- Hire, lead, and coach direct reports towards success.
- Continuously review and implement improvements/changes to ensure the ongoing success and reputation of Venture Café and CIC Berlin.
- Collaborate with the Venture Café global network and CIC Connect global program to connect the Berlin community to global opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate risks to the effective operation of the Thursday Gathering.
- Collaborate with the CIC Berlin team to ensure effective programming and cross-promotion opportunities.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who is passionate about mission-driven work and has a strong network of contacts in the innovation community. You should have excellent organizational, project, and task management skills, as well as familiarity with digital media channels and Google Suite. You should also be comfortable with public speaking and have excellent communication skills. Fluency in English and German is required, and you should be able to legally work in Germany.
