About Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI) & Venture Café BerlinFounded in 2009 within the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) in Massachusetts, the Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI) aims to connect individuals, ideas, and resources on a global scale. Over the years, it has evolved into a worldwide initiative, facilitating more than 660,000 connections among innovators, creatives, and leaders across numerous cities.
Venture Café Berlin is set to launch in collaboration with strategic partner CIC, working alongside businesses and organizations that are transforming sectors such as education, technology, social justice, science, and the arts within the city.
Your Role & Responsibilities- Assemble and lead the Venture Café Berlin team.
- Initiate and oversee programming for Thursday Gatherings.
- Formulate an annual programming strategy to motivate and connect the local innovation ecosystem.
- Establish foundational financial partnerships for Venture Café Berlin.
- Collaborate with local ecosystem leaders to create diverse and inclusive initiatives.
- Design innovative program formats for content delivery and networking opportunities.
- Guide strategic planning, impact assessment, and program budgeting.
- Recruit, mentor, and support direct reports towards achieving their goals.
- Identify and address potential risks to the successful operation of the Thursday Gathering.
- Engage with the global network to link the Berlin community to international opportunities.
- Ensure effective programming and collaborative promotion with the CIC Berlin team.
You possess a keen understanding of urban challenges and view them as opportunities for growth. Your passion lies in mission-driven work, fostering collaboration, and engaging with the community. Your expertise includes leadership, networking, innovation, and public speaking, and you are adept with various digital media platforms and project management tools.
Requirements & Benefits- Familiarity with Berlin's start-up ecosystem and key stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, project, and task management capabilities.
- Proficiency in digital media channels and project management software.
- Availability to participate in the weekly Venture Café Thursday Gathering.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Legal authorization to work in Germany.
