Director, Venture Café Berlin

Venture Café Berlin is a dynamic community of innovators, creatives, and leaders working together to address the city's biggest challenges. As the Director, you will play a key role in building and leading the Venture Café Berlin team, launching and directing programming for the Thursday Gathering and other ecosystem-building activities.
Your Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the launch strategy for Venture Café Berlin in collaboration with VCGI and CIC.
- Work closely with the CIC Berlin General Manager to ensure success and align initiatives where appropriate.
- Scope and develop a yearly programming strategy to inspire and connect the local innovation community.
- Secure foundational financial partners for Venture Café Berlin and build a pipeline for funding opportunities.
- Identify and partner with local ecosystem leaders as an advocate and spokesperson to build diverse and inclusive programs.
- Develop innovative program formats for delivering content and creating connection opportunities to maximize engagement.
- Lead and oversee strategic planning, impact measurement, and program budget for CIC Connect market access and other innovation programs in Berlin.
- Attract funding for programs and align them within the Thursday Gathering framework.
- Hire, lead, and coach direct reports towards success.
- Continuously review and implement improvements/changes to ensure the ongoing success and reputation of Venture Café and CIC Berlin.
- Collaborate with the Venture Café global network and CIC Connect global program to connect the Berlin community to global opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate risks to the effective operation of the Thursday Gathering.
- Collaborate with the CIC Berlin team to ensure effective programming and cross-promotion opportunities.
You will be a natural leader with a strong network, driven to tackle the city's biggest challenges and connect diverse groups to make things happen. You will have a fascination with trends and a humanistic perspective, combining passion for mission-driven work with excellent organizational, project, and task management skills. You will be comfortable with public speaking, have excellent communication skills, and excel at connecting across business, academia, government, and civil society.
