Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at Universität Hamburg. The successful candidate will be part of the theoretical oceanography group, working under the supervision of Dr. Friederike Pollmann and Dr. Alexa Griesel as well as Prof. Dr. Carsten Eden.
About the Project
The Research Associate will be involved in the project L5, which aims to investigate an extreme future climate state without the Earth's major ice sheets. The project focuses on the application and assessment of the energetic mixing closure IDEMIX in climate states that are very different from today's.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in oceanography and numerical modeling
- Develop and implement new methods for data analysis and modeling
- Collaborate with international researchers and participate in research training group ENERGY
- Pursue independent research and further academic qualifications
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field
- Completed M.Sc. or equivalent in physical oceanography, meteorology, physics, applied mathematics or related relevant fields
- Excellent English skills and ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary team
