Position Overview:

General Dynamics Information Technology offers an exciting opportunity for an Information Security Analyst to support our mission-critical operations. The selected candidate will be instrumental in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of vital information and resources essential for operational success. The Analyst will assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in ensuring that Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization packages are developed and maintained in compliance with the Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) Risk Management Framework for Information Technology.

The Analyst will be responsible for registering systems in the Automated Performance Management System (APMS), creating and managing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), developing security plans, and performing thorough analyses of security scans. They will review Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and gather necessary artifacts to ensure adherence to NIST Special Publications and CNSSI 1253 standards. The Analyst will ensure that all RMF controls for system accreditation are tested and documented to secure the necessary authorizations for all systems, software, and hardware throughout their lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Assess Only, Assess and Authorize, and Authority to Connect RMF Authorizations along with continuous monitoring efforts in the eMASS system.
  • Conduct RMF Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Self Assessments and Annual Reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal and external agency personnel to ensure timely completion of necessary actions.
  • Execute pre-validation A&A testing, documentation, and review to confirm compliance with cybersecurity policies, regulations, STIGs, and Best Business Practices.
  • Lead self-assessments of information systems for program elements.
  • Work closely with security control validation and cybersecurity inspection teams during audits.
  • Develop and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) Body of Evidence (BoE) artifacts, including system security plans, contingency plans, and Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs).
  • Assist in implementing countermeasures or mitigating controls.
  • Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications through the technical enforcement of organizational security policies.
  • Conduct periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Provide vulnerability reporting and guidance to administrators for remediation actions.
  • Support team members and staff to enhance compliance levels.
  • Notify the government of any suspected incidents promptly and assist in containment, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Advise system owners and the ISSM on security considerations for new and existing information systems.
  • Perform security impact analysis for configuration changes and participate in Change Control Board Meetings.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
  • May serve as a task leader.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Education: Equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience can substitute for degree requirements.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with EvaluateSTIG, AESS, SCAP, and ACAS. Strong communication and technical writing skills are essential.
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAM III required at the time of hiring.
