Position Overview:
The Program Officer will play a vital role in the program management unit, aiding in the execution of program activities. This includes identifying and implementing project activities, crafting concept notes for these activities, maintaining direct communication with partners and field personnel, providing technical support for community policing and engagement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with reporting and evaluation requirements.
Reporting Structure:
The Program Officer will report to the Senior Program Manager and will not have supervisory responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesMain Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of concept notes, activity documentation, budgets, and amendments, while updating the status of implementations and finalizing activities upon completion.
- Collaborate with field personnel and partners to develop concept notes and prepare activity documentation, ensuring timely updates and closures of activities.
- Support the translation of key documents generated from discussions with local governance, policing, and community partners aligned with the program's objectives.
- Monitor progress against the activity work plan to achieve program goals and deliverables.
- Work closely with the management team and partners to create activity work plans, budgets, and communication strategies that engage all relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly reports, success stories, lessons learned, and any additional reporting as required by the program.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- A university degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in implementing humanitarian, development, or stabilization programs, or relevant project management experience.
- Experience collaborating with community-based organizations and mobilizing communities around social and humanitarian issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work effectively.
- Proven track record of teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to take initiative and think creatively to empower communities in addressing their challenges.
- Fluency in Arabic and strong proficiency in English are required.
- Proficient in relevant computer applications and software.
