Position Overview

Imperial Brands PLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to become a pivotal member of our Sensory and Consumer Science Team. This role is designed for a fixed term and focuses on enhancing our understanding of consumer behavior and preferences.

In this capacity, you will be instrumental in conducting and facilitating research initiatives aimed at uncovering valuable insights into consumer attitudes, behaviors, and experiences with our products. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing consumer perceptions and decision-making processes, which will directly influence our product development, innovation, and marketing strategies.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our global operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary sensory contact for both internal and external stakeholders across designated product categories, managing specific cross-category projects.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer regarding sensory methodologies to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and staying abreast of advancements in Sensory Science.
  • Act as a liaison between consumer insights and client requirements, particularly in marketing and manufacturing contexts.
  • Provide training and methodology guidance to agencies for conducting standardized sensory research.
  • Collaborate closely with the research manager to initiate, implement, and refine innovative consumer research tools and methodologies.
  • Oversee the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research studies, including leading consumer research within our dedicated facilities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in sensory product and market research, with a strong understanding of the interplay between products and consumer behavior.
  • Proficiency in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and market research methodologies, along with strong computer skills (Microsoft Office & SAS/SPSS, XLStat).
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, project management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A curious, adaptable, and organized approach to work, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
