This position is essential for integrating computational techniques with experimental research, empowering our scientists to achieve remarkable breakthroughs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement software tools for data analysis, modeling, and simulation to enhance research and development initiatives.
- Create scripts and applications to streamline repetitive laboratory processes such as data gathering, processing, and analysis.
- Enhance computational pipelines for GPU execution, focusing on the orchestration and distribution of packages like AlphaFold, RFdiffusion, and ProteinMPNN.
- Collaborate closely with biologists and other researchers to identify their requirements and develop customized computational solutions.
- Build APIs and other interfaces to facilitate communication and data sharing between various software and hardware systems.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of software development workflows, validation processes, and data management protocols to comply with regulatory standards.
- Utilize agile development methodologies to iteratively create and refine tools based on user feedback and evolving needs.
Qualifications:
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a scientific software development position, ideally within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Proficient in Python and software engineering, with a track record of delivering high-quality, tested, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Familiarity with software management tools (git, CI with GitHub Actions or similar CI tools, containerization with Docker).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for extensive data processing and analysis.
- Understanding and application of DevOps principles.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect or Nextflow for managing data pipelines.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and practices related to data management and software development in the biotechnology field.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems involving large datasets.
