Strategic Account Executive

Position Overview:

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a proactive and results-oriented professional to fill the role of Key Account Manager. This position is based in our Luxembourg Technical Center in Hautcharage, Luxembourg, and entails comprehensive commercial oversight for designated customer accounts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assume overall commercial accountability for one or more customer accounts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to devise and execute strategies aimed at enhancing existing business and securing new opportunities with assigned OEMs.
  • Lead the coordination of new business proposals and quotations.
  • Manage customer account performance metrics, implement pricing strategies, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Represent BorgWarner professionally to clients.
  • Align account activities with broader customer strategies to support long-term business goals.
  • Facilitate customer contract negotiations to drive business unit growth.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial processes, including contract reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with sales processes and account information management.

Key Account Manager Duties:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive customer strategies that enhance profitability and growth.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of market share, competitive positioning, and profitability for each assigned account.
  • Work with sales management to establish market-driven pricing strategies based on value provided to customers and competitive options.
  • Establish and manage customer interface strategies, fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Identify and pursue proactive new business opportunities, tracking progress towards sales targets.
  • Lead the Acquisition Plan, ensuring effective delivery and execution.
  • Monitor market trends, customer developments, and competitor activities, relaying pertinent information to sales management.
  • Oversee total customer satisfaction, tracking performance on key supplier metrics and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
  • Generate sales forecasts for long-range planning and adjust monthly forecasts based on market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with contract review procedures and BorgWarner's commercial policies.
  • Provide global coordination on customer-related issues as needed.
  • Act as the primary contact for customers regarding commercial matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within BorgWarner to address customer needs.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, marketing events, and trade fairs.
  • Uphold quality standards and procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in sales with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proven negotiation capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in team management.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is necessary to effectively manage designated customer accounts.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience.

Language Proficiency:

Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.

Relevant Experience:

Candidates must possess relevant professional experience post-graduation, preferably in the automotive, OEM, or Tier 1 sectors.
