Strategic Account Executive

Position Overview:

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a proactive and results-oriented individual to fill the role of Key Account Manager. This position entails overseeing commercial responsibilities for designated customer accounts within our Technical Center.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assume comprehensive commercial oversight for assigned customer accounts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to devise and execute strategies aimed at enhancing existing business and securing new opportunities.
  • Lead the coordination of new business proposals.
  • Manage customer account performance metrics, implement pricing strategies, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Act as a professional representative of BorgWarner to our clientele.
  • Align account activities with broader customer strategies to support long-term business goals.
  • Negotiate customer contracts to facilitate business unit growth.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial processes, including contract evaluations.
  • Maintain compliance with sales processes and account information management.

Key Account Manager Duties:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive customer strategies to enhance profitability and growth.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of market share, competitive positioning, and profitability for each assigned account.
  • Work with sales management to establish pricing strategies that reflect market conditions and customer value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within customer organizations.
  • Identify and track new business opportunities, ensuring progress towards sales objectives.
  • Oversee the Acquisition Plan, ensuring effective execution.
  • Monitor market trends and customer dynamics, providing relevant insights to sales management.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction by monitoring performance on key supplier metrics and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare sales forecasts for long-range planning and adjust monthly forecasts based on market trends.
  • Coordinate globally on customer-related issues as required.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding commercial matters.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address customer needs effectively.
  • Represent BorgWarner at industry exhibitions and marketing events.
  • Adhere to quality procedures and maintain excellence in service delivery.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in sales with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proven negotiation skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Experience in team management.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is necessary to effectively manage assigned customer accounts.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience.

Language Proficiency:

Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.

Relevant Experience:

Candidates should possess relevant professional experience post-graduation, preferably in the automotive, OEM, or Tier 1 sectors.
