About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HR Manager to lead our Colleague Experience Group in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business outcomes, enabling change, and growing the best talent for our markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Partnership: Serve as a point of integration for Colleague Strategic Partners, CEG Centers of Excellence, and the broader CEG team to ensure alignment and effective deployment of key initiatives.
  • Career: Lead the local market strategy around career growth, including playing a key role in our Leadership Community. Strengthen colleagues' capabilities by building a learning strategy that has targeted skill development and incorporates innovative learning solutions.
  • Culture: Ensure a positive colleague experience by providing thought leadership for initiatives that span the colleague lifecycle. Build a strong colleague brand for American Express by supporting and communicating local initiatives.
  • Recruiting: Partner with Global Talent Acquisition to use recruitment insights to advise and drive the market talent strategy, including building internal and external talent pipelines.
  • Well-being: Support the evolution of an inclusive Benefits strategy to meet the current and future needs of colleagues, ensuring that changes are communicated clearly to colleagues.
Requirements
  • University degree in an applicable field of study
  • High drive for decision-making & results, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills with a proven track record to lead and successfully deliver large-scale strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Knowledge or experience around Talent Management & Learning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, proven ability to work across all levels of the organization in a matrixed structure.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing data.
  • Understanding of the local employment law landscape and experience with Works Council is a plus.
  • Strong PC and Microsoft office skills including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Fluent in German and English.
