Head of Automation and Digital Transformation

About the Role:

Takeda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Automation, Digital, and Data Science team at our Oranienburg manufacturing site. As the Head of Automation and Digital Transformation, you will be responsible for implementing global automation standards, developing strategic initiatives, and presenting best practices and key industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site-specific automation concepts and solutions.
  • Develop project plans, URS, FRS, and commissioning documents for new automated systems.
  • Present best practices and key industry trends, including developing and delivering new and unique approaches to automation and digital.
  • Develop, automate, and validate data management processes.
  • Create and maintain BI system and its infrastructure.
  • Optimize, standardize, and upgrade existing automation technology and process control.
  • Ensure availability and target-oriented flow of systems and processes.
  • Implement and administer access and virus protection, including back-up and disaster recovery plans for industrial automation systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven successful deployment of automation and digital projects.
  • Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, or technically comparable studies.
  • Relevant professional experience in electrical engineering and automation.
  • Sound knowledge of process control systems and automation systems.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in PLC and SCADA systems, network solutions, and virtual environment.
  • Fluent programming skills, including Python, SQL, and familiarity with data analysis and statistics.
  • Sound experience in project management and in dealing with project planning methods and tools.
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and managing work structures for the automation department.
  • Leadership skills, a high sense of responsibility, and strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
