Job Title: Account Manager Catalysts

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team at BASF Process Catalysts GmbH. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing customer interactions, with a focus on precious metal (PM) catalysts in the areas of custom business model and market catalysts sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow customer interactions with special focus on PM catalysts
  • Provide sales forecasts and negotiate and close contracts with price authority above business management/marketing defined limit prices
  • Lead and coordinate new projects, including initial contact, technical optimization, and scale-up, up to commercial and legal negotiations and the closing of profitable deals
  • Identify and specify customer needs and new leads through customer interaction and coordinate lead qualification
  • Coordinate the process of turning leads into opportunities, put together the business case for solution scenarios, and present solutions to the customer
  • Seek new business opportunities, business partners, and customers and manage existing business partners and customers while closely engaging with our marketing, technology, innovation, and licensing teams
Qualifications:
  • PhD or Master's degree in science in chemistry, catalysis, or chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Several years of working experience in technical sales, business development, process engineering, marketing, and working with customers in the area of Catalysts, with regard to heterogeneous PM-catalysts qualification
  • Knowledge about the technical, commercial, and compliance aspects of the PM business, to support customers during all major steps of a full-loop business
  • Strong communication skills in English, as well as excellent negotiation and account management skills, together with distinct networking competencies
  • Ability to convince and influence with your way of thinking, as well as your strong customer focus
