Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Manager to join our team at Marriott International. As a Night Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of general ledger impacted processes during the night, including support to clients as they work with and understand these processes.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

• A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major is required. No work experience is necessary.

• Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Finance and Accounting or a related major, along with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area, is also acceptable.

Core Work Activities

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

• You will coordinate and implement accounting work and projects as assigned.

• You will coordinate, implement, and follow up on Accounting SOP audits for all areas of the property.

• You will comply with Federal and State laws applying to fraud and collection procedures.

• You will generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.

• You will analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

• You will compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information or data.

• You will balance credit card ledgers.

• You will verify contracts for groups and perform credit reference checks for direct billed groups if necessary.

• You will ensure that audits are completed correctly and on time, in line with auditing procedures.

• You will post all transactions on a regular basis to ensure that bills are kept up-to-date.

Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals

• You will achieve and exceed goals, including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.

• You will develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

• You will submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.

• You will ensure profits and losses are documented accurately.

• You will monitor all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected, and/or accrued.

• You will maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.

• You will complete period-end functions each period.

• You will provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.

Demonstrating and Applying Accounting Knowledge

• You will demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.

• You will demonstrate knowledge of return check procedures.

• You will demonstrate knowledge of the Gross Revenue Report.

• You will demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with write-off procedures.

• You will demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with consolidated deposit procedures.

• You will keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.

• You will use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, develop financial spreadsheets, set up functions, enter data, or process information.

• You will use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
