Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at Universität Hamburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and teaching in the field of particle physics, with a focus on axion dark matter search.
About the Project
The MADMAX experiment is a cutting-edge research project aimed at detecting axions, hypothetical particles that could make up part of the universe's dark matter. As a Research Associate, you will be part of a team of leading scientists from mathematics, particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology at Universität Hamburg and DESY.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and experiments related to axion dark matter search
- Teach and supervise students in the field of particle physics
- Develop and commission experimental equipment
- Operate and maintain experimental facilities
- Collaborate with international research teams
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (e.g., physics, mathematics)
- Strong background in laboratory measurements and experimental techniques
- Experience with cryogenic or vacuum systems, high-precision mechanics, and photon detection
