Director of IT Operations

Your Responsibilities
As the Service Head for all UnternehmerTUM legal entities, you will take charge of the ownership, implementation, execution, and management of our IT services and products, transitioning towards a Managed Service Provider (MSP) oriented IT organization. You will develop and drive the Group IT service, project, and OKR strategy, ensuring quality service by establishing and enforcing IT organization standards. You will be responsible for managing service costs, identifying opportunities to reduce the cost base, and avoiding a high ratio of fixed costs. Through transformation and modernization processes, you will advance the IT service team both technologically and organizationally, overseeing the technical and disciplinary management of 7 team members. Your role will involve leading, motivating, and developing team members in alignment with the company's values, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. You will provide strategic guidance for IT OKRs, including evaluating and recommending technical controls. Engaging with service providers will be essential to ensure quality service, innovation delivery, productivity, and effective problem/incident resolution.Your Profile
A University Degree or comparable education in Computer Science, IT, or Technology. A minimum of four years in a leadership role with managerial and fiscal responsibility. At least 6 years of experience operating high-availability platforms on a larger scale or in IT governance. Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Cloud Platform, and G Workspace is highly valued. A deep understanding of modern system infrastructures and service architectures such as ITIL, COBIT, ITSM, or FAIR. A holistic understanding of business process management and service portfolio management (SLA, KPI). Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German (preferably C2 level in at least one). Strong leadership skills, including effective communication and conflict management.Your Benefits
