About the Role
Location Germany
As a Product Owner (f/m/d) specializing in Mechanical Engineering Transformers, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to 'connecting efficient factories'. Within a globally distributed development team, your primary responsibility will be to design software components and establish methodologies and software architectural concepts for mechanical engineering tools. Your focus will be on developing and constructing the most uniform and standardized components in an agile manner, ensuring the timely delivery of innovative and sustainable engineering software solutions while minimizing operational costs. Your expertise will also be essential in addressing non-standard functional requirements from end-users, contributing to sustainable software development aligned with Siemens Energy's guidelines, including cyber security and modern development standards. This work is vital for enhancing Siemens Energy's competitiveness by enabling more efficient engineering processes across various sites.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Define guidelines for the development of transformer software tools and actively influence their progression.
- Analyze, assess, and estimate business/user requirements while designing solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.
- Oversee the handover and maintenance of software components for in-house operations at transformer production sites, providing user support as needed.
- Contribute to the enhancement of development methods and processes within a multicultural, agile, and highly skilled team.
- Collaborate with teams from various departments and locations in an international context.
- Support the Siemens Energy transformer business in terms of quality, efficiency, and sustainability as part of a forward-thinking digitalization and tool development team.
What You Bring
- A Master's degree in computer science or relevant fields such as physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or software engineering.
- Extensive experience in developing mechanical and/or electromagnetic software components tailored to non-standard customer requests.
- In-depth knowledge of transformer portfolios, including electrical and mechanical design processes and associated manufacturing technologies.
- Strong communication skills in English, with a willingness to travel internationally.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and the Scaled Agile Framework is preferred.
- Experience in project management and team leadership.
- Background in software development projects and tools, including GIT workflows, continuous integration, and deployment.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, microservices architecture, and object-oriented programming, particularly in C++ or C#.
